AI breakthrough!

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR) at the University of Agder (UiA) marked its 1-year anniversary with some highly interesting new results within the field of AI, presented by Ole-Christoffer Granmo. 23.03.18

The new innovation of Professor Ole-Chrisoffer Granmo, CTO of Anzyz, consists of two parts. The first part is based on research from the 1950’s in the former Soviet Union, where mathematician and physicist, Michael Lvovitch Tsetlin, worked on cybernetics. Tsetlin looked at rats to studied how biologic systems learn and how to mathematically model this, creating the Tsetlin Automaton: a mathematical rat brain. ‍

The second part consists of propositional logic, which has its roots in Ancient Philosophy, examining ways to form more complicated statements or sentences. ‍

Granmo has named the new algorithm, which combines these two components, the Tsetlin Machine. ‍
